You never know who could be a true hero. A father risked his life to save a stranger from a fiery car crash- and it was all captured on camera. Santiago Portillo was working at a mattress store when he heard a thundering explosion and looked up to see a car outside flipped upside down. He grabbed his camera to record the accident- and then he saw the arm hanging out the window. He explained "I saw a life in there. I put the phone down and just handled business."
Like a stunt gone horribly wrong, the roof had collapsed and there was fire coming through the air vents. By the time firefighters arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames. Portillo says all he could think about was family. "My mom. His mom. My daughters. They were mad at me, but they were happy and it was unreal." Portillo says he would do it again.
Firefighters commended Portillo’s bravery and paramedics said it was a good thing he acted so quickly. If he'd taken time to stop and think about anything else- the driver wouldn't be alive today. Watch the dramatic rescue above.
