This UPS driver goes above and beyond

It’s always nice when something you’ve ordered online finally arrives, but UPS Driver Michael Day does much more than deliver packages.

14-year-old Asher is autistic and for the past 8 years, he’s called Michael early every morning to get a rundown of what’s to come, because getting a delivery is the best part of his day.

Asher’s mother Raquel explains, “Whether it’s getting a package or the neighbors getting a package, or just seeing Mike, that’s enough of a buzz for him that it keeps him going.”

Asher is thrilled by each delivery, and Michael is more than happy to be a part of that joy.

“I just try to put myself in his shoes and his family’s shoes, and all of that,” Michael said. “And just say, ‘Hey, you know, it’s not really that big of a deal to take a phone call or do a little bit of extra,’ so, you know. Why not do it?”

The friendship has also made him like part of the family, even celebrating Hanukkah with them. Michael Day shows us all that doing a little extra makes all the difference in the world.
