Deputies: Burglary suspects could be tied to criminal ring

- Investigators in Forsyth County are concerned a pair of burglary suspects could be tied to a large criminal ring across North Georgia targeting people of certain Asian ethnic groups in search of cash and jewelry.

Deputies released surveillance video of a man and woman they said attempted to break into a home in the Southgate Village community. The attempted break-in happened Thursday afternoon in the neighborhood off Windermere Parkway.

Authorities said the couple knocked on the home numerous times and the man was seen on surveillance video talking into a headset; deputies said the suspect was communicating with a white vehicle that was the "lookout" for the duo.

The pair donned surgical masks, walked around the side of the house into the backyard and fled before they could make entry, deputies said.

Investigators also said the couple donned designer athletic wear to appear to be a couple out on a jog in the upper-middle class neighborhood.

Deputies said the pair's actions have a similar approach to the criminal ring targeting families of Indian and Asian descent across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Numerous law enforcement agencies are on the lookout for the criminal gang burglarizing family homes in search of cash, gold, and jewelry.

Deputies need help identifying these individuals. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective O’Haire at 770-781-2222 ext. 3321.
