According to the Chattanooga Fire Department's Facebook, a local family stopped by a fire station Monday morning asking for help with their kitten.

Cotton had somehow got its head stuck in a mason jar and couldn't get it out, so they needed firefighters to perform an emergency rescue.

The men wanted to make sure Cotton got out without being injured, so Station 20's Captain Eric Stone grabbed a pair of sheet metal crimpers.

With the tools, the firefighters were able to cut the glass away so that Cotton could slip out safely.

"Firefighters will pretty much rescue anything. It's what they do," officials said on the Facebook post.
