ATLANTA - Firefighters are battling a large tire fire in Atlanta.
The fire broke out early Tuesday morning behind a vacant apartment building on Fairfield Place Northwest.
Fire officials said a large number of tires started burning just before 7 a.m. Tuesday. Then, the blaze spread and reached the abandoned home.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, then brought foam in to extinguish the still smoldering pile.
Officials said a person of interest is being questioned about setting the fire. It's not clear who dumped the tires in the woods.
