Fire reported near Toco Hills Shopping Center

- Firefighters in DeKalb County said they struck two alarms after a fire was reported at the Toco Hills Shopping Center on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Druid Hills Road near Lavista Road.

DeKalb County Battalion Chief Jeff Crump told FOX 5 News the fire was on the back side of the building where Famous Pub used to be located. The fire also caused damage to the Georgia Insurance Group located above the location.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene around 5:30 p.m. and spotted firefighters cutting holes in the roof to vent smoke and flames.

Firefighters said they were able to get the blaze under control within an hour after arriving.

The shopping center is currently being remodeled.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
