HALL COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia State Patrol said they have charged the driver in a crash involving a fully-loaded Hall County school bus on Thursday.
It happened at the intersection of Georgia Highway 53 and Vineyard Way just after 2:45 p.m. Troopers said Soleil Nyasamaza, 23, of Gainesville, turn onto GA 53 in front of an SUV with the right of way traveling through the intersection. Nyasamaza’s van struck the SUV before hopping the curb and ended up smashing head-on into the school bus traveling in the opposite direction.
Nyasamaza and a passenger, identified by troopers as Johnson Mukuku, 34, also of Gainesville, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Both suffered minor injuries.
Only one child on the school bus complained of minor injuries, but was treated at the scene and released the child’s parents.
No one was injured in the SUV.
