A fire at an abandoned church in southeast Atlanta caused traffic trouble Friday morning.

Authorities had to shut down part of Clifton Street while crews worked to put out the blaze. The church was right around the corner from Alonzo A. Crim High School.

Firefighters believe homeless people may have stayed in the building or right outside of it.

Firefighters said one person was checked out at the scene for smoke inhalation.
