Father of five killed in drive-by shooting

DeKalb County police hope witnesses will come forward to point investigators in the right direction toi find those responsible for a drive-by shooting in which two men were shot and a father of five was killed.

Anterrance DeJuan Gresham, 30, was shot in the back while he was on his way home to his family for dinner. His family said Gresham was not the intended target.

"Who would want to do that to him?" asked his fiancée, Sherika Woods, with whom Gresham has two children. "Very cold-blooded, especially if he's an innocent bystander. It's not right."

The shooting happened Monday evening on Chupp Road. Gresham was riding his scooter, on the way home from a local store when police said a silver vehicle sped by and opened fire. Gresham was hit and died on the way to the hospital.

Family members hope the people who witnessed the crime at the busy shopping centers nearby will come forward to police.

"His kids need justice," Woods said.

His family is also trying to raise money for the funeral. They have opened an online account to help collect donations.

Anyone with information on the deadly shooting is asked to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
