Where are Patricia Bradley’s ashes and who ultimately is responsible for the mix-up that resulted in Bradley’s children being given the wrong ashes after she was supposed to have been cremated? The family only learned what happened in mid-October, two weeks after their mother’s memorial service.
The family’s attorney maintains Southern Regional Medical Center and Speer-Shelton Funeral Home Directors are responsible for the shocking turn of events, that have left Bradley’s family in possession of an unknown person’s cremains and no idea what happened to their 69-year-old mother’s body.
Family Attorney CK Hoffler says Speer-Shelton Funeral Home was responsible for transporting Ms. Bradley’s body from Southern Regional for cremation and delivering the ashes to her children.
Her family horrified to learn what happened when Southern Regional called the family two weeks after the memorial service and asked them
when they would pick up their mother’s body. That is when they realized they had someone else’s ashes and months later — they say they have no idea what happened if Bradley was cremated where her ashes are and say they can’t get any straight answers from the hospital or funeral home
The family asking anyone has a loved one whose body was at Southern Regional entrusted to Speer-Shelton Funeral Directors in September of 2018 to give CK Hoffler law firm a call.
Meantime, Southern Regional and Funeral Home deny wrongdoing in this case.
