Driver accused of firing shots at Cherokee County deputies

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrests a man who they said fired 10 to 12 shots at officers.

A deputy tried to stop Joey Donaldson on a road in northern Cherokee County.

But the deputy said he refused to stop and fired shots out of the window.

A few hours later, investigators tried to pull Donaldson over again.

Deputies said he sped away and threw a locked box out of the window.

A short time later, the driver lost control and crashed.

Officers arrested Donaldson.

They also found the box which they said contained marijuana and meth.
