COVINGTON, Ga. - Police said they have arrested the man who is the main suspect in seven dollar store robberies in different three counties in just nine days.
Police said Wayne Patterson is suspected of showing a gun and robbing Family Dollar and Dollar General stores in Rockdale, Fulton, and Clayton counties at the end of July.
According to the FBI, the man's crime spree started at a Family Dollar in Conyers on July 20. Then he hit six other stores in a matter of just days. The last robbery happened at a Family Dollar on Tara Boulevard on July 28.
"It's a lot of robberies in a very short time," FBI Public Affairs Specialist Kevin Rowson. "He's specifically targeting dollar stores--Family Dollars and Dollar Generals."
Covington Police arrested Patterson after a robbery at Citi Trends, a discount clothing store last month.
