Dole Withdraws Packaged Salads After Listeria Outbreak

After a 6-state listeria outbreak, Dole Fresh Vegetables, Inc. is temporarily withdrawing their Dole-packaged and private label packaged salads at one of their operations. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday the company has stopped production at its Springfield, Ohio facility.

The Food and Drug Administration says this outbreak has killed one and sickened 12 others.

The affected products begin with the letter "A" in the upper right-hand corner of the package and were sold in Georgia and 22 other states, as well as a few Canadian provinces.

Dole has asked retailers to check their shelves and warehouses to make sure those affected products are not being sold to customers.

No other facilities or products are affected.
