Police say security cameras caught a suspect walking into a Jared, Gallery of Jewelry on the 4500 block of Ashford Dunwoody Road with a hammer in his pants Thursday.

Dunwoody Police Officer Anwar Sillah said employees noticed the man was acting suspiciously.

"One of the employees asked him if he needed help, and the suspect pointed towards his headphones," Sillah said. "He indicated he was on the phone, so he really wasn't making too much communication with the employees."

The robber continued to walk around the store for several minutes, and then the footage shows the man pulling out the hammer and smashing the display case that held loose diamonds.

Police say the suspect grabbed two diamonds, then ran out to the parking lot to hand them over to another suspect.

The suspect is described as a man between the age of 20 to 25, around 5-feet-11-inches tall with a distinct dark blemish on his right arm.

He was wearing a black sweatshirt, gray pants with a white stripe, white shoes, and a black ball cap.

Dunwoody Police Officers are asking for the public's help finding this robber and his accomplice. "It's something that occurred during business hours, there were customers there, employees there, and it was a violent crime, so this is someone we definitely need to get off of the streets," Officer Sillah said.

If you have any information that can identify the man, please contact Detective Tim Waldron at 678-382-6911.
