Deputies: Teen arrested on school campus had stolen gun

A Hall County teenager was arrested Monday after deputies said they found a stolen shotgun in his home. Investigators said he also had a stolen handgun on him when he was arrested at East Hall High School.

Rigoberto Garcia, 17, of Hall County, was charged with two counts of theft by receiving a firearm, possession of a firearm on school property, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18 years old. The Hall County Sheriff’s Office said they recovered a stolen 12-gauge shotgun from Garcia’s home located in the 2500 block of Oakdale Drive on Oct. 20. Garcia was not home at the time.

Monday, Garcia was arrested in the parking lot of East Hall High School. Deputies said they found Glock .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol, which investigators later determined was stolen from Madison County.

Garcia was booked into the Hall County Jail.
