ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. - Deputies said they pulled over a car going 100 miles per hour, and discovered guns, drugs, and a one-year-old baby inside.
“You're definitely putting the life of a child in danger. What if that child got those guns? Or those drugs?” said spokesperson Michael Meyers, for the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office.
Meyers said the vehicle was spotted and pulled over along Interstate 20; he the guns that were found were stolen, but one gun was stolen from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies also said they found the drug “Molly,” a jar of marijuana, a box of bullets and a scale.
In the deputy's report, the responding deputy said the car was driving across several lanes recklessly, up to 100 miles per hour. Dashcam video obtained only by FOX 5 shows the traffic stop, and deputies searching the vehicle.
Deputies said the father, Aquelle Crawle, was the driver, and mother Carmiell Verdell was a passenger. Ashanti Gray was also a passenger.
The baby girl was okay and taken by her grandparents while her parents faced charges. Deputies said they were glad to get the baby away from those dangerous items.
All three individuals faced child cruelty charges, as well as drug-related charges and other criminal charges.
