DeKalb County Police hold job recruitment fair

The DeKalb County Police Department were looking for a few good men and women to join their ranks.

The department hosted a job fair Saturday at their headquarters in Tucker. Potentially candidates got a chance to participate in pre-screening interviews and make officials on-sight applications. Applicants were also scheduled for physical agility tests.

The different units in the department such as Tac, SWAT, and the Motor unite were also showcased to help potential candidates understand the opportunities.

The salary for a DeKalb County Police officer starts at just over $39,000 and increased based on the level of education in the field.

Police said candidates must be U.S. citizen who is at least 20 years old with no felony or domestic violence convictions, hold a valid driver’s license, at least a high school diploma or GED, and have a good mental, physical, and moral health. The department strongly encourages military veterans with honorable discharges to apply.
