A DeKalb County student was robbed at gunpoint just minutes after stepping off the school bus. Even more surprising, police said one of the gunmen was Stephenson High School football player Ira Henderson.

Detectives said an 18-year-old senior stepped off his school bus and started walking home when police said suspect Ira Henderson and a second gunman demanded the student turned over everything. The armed robbery happened January 26 just before 4 p.m.

The 12th-grade victim threw his backpack and shoes at the victim.

The shoes were custom made Louis Vuitton gold tennis shoes that are valued at $1,200. The 18-year-old victim said one of the robbers put a handgun to his head and demanded money again. That is when the victim told the gunmen they would have to kill him because he did not have any cash.

The victim's adult sister was inside the house and watched the robbery unfold. The sister triggered the family's alarm system which scared the two gunmen off.

Contractors in the Norris Reserve subdivision began running after both suspects, one was on foot and the other jumped in a getaway truck. The workers got a tag number off of the white Lexus truck. They also found a shotgun and the Louis Vuitton tennis shoes in a nearby shed.

Suspect Henderson was arrested February 9. The second suspect is still on the run.

Parents in the area are baffled by the bold attack.

"This is a nice quiet community that we live in and just to hear that someone followed the kid home to get his shoes. This should be an eye-opener to everyone it can happen anywhere," Parent Hasan Smith said with disgust.
