Duluth Police are on the hunt for a wanted man who fled recklessly from police, driving at speeds up to 85 miles per hour on busy Buford Highway.

Police said Jesus Montgomery, 35, sped from police during a traffic stop and fled for close to four miles. Dashcam video shows him swerving and nearly hitting drivers at high speeds.

Investigators said the ordeal happened Saturday shortly before 3 p.m., as an officer spotted Montgomery at a Citgo gas station and watched him drive erratically to avoid the officer; when the officer tried to pull him over for a traffic stop, police said Montgomery sped off.

The pursuit lasted from Buford Highway at Fox Street into Gwinnett County at Blarney Way. Police said Montgomery got out of the car and jumped fences to elude capture.

"He put a lot of people in harm's way during the chase. We just want any criminal off the streets-- especially ones that put the officer, the motoring public at risk," said Officer Ted Sadowski.

Officers seized the vehicle and found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and his cell phone and said they identified him through social media.

If you see Montgomery, please call your local law enforcement. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
