Horrified community members are going door-to-door in search of a man accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl on her way to school in southwest Atlanta in September.

On Saturday, the group gathered at Noon at Mozely Park, located at 1565 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, to search nearby neighborhoods for the suspect.

The event organizer, former city councilman Derrick Boazman, said, “Until this monster is caught, we, that love our community and this little girl, cannot rest. We will bring him to justice one way or the other!”

Police released a sketch of the suspect who, they say, grabbed and dragged the child as she was walking along a trail in Mozley Park. The suspect reportedly forced the girl to pull her pants down and perform oral sex on him.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early twenties with a little black afro and mustache. He has brown eyes, earrings in both ears, and thick eyebrows with a cut on one of them and tattoos on his left arm, police said. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a tan sweater with a white undershirt, blue jeans and all white Jordans.

Community members have added money to the reward being offered for the arrest and conviction of the suspect, bringing the total to $10,000. Anyone with information about the suspect's identity or the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
