Over the past few days, the community has rallied around the Maddox family. He left behind his wife, a child and a baby on the way.

"When I heard about the story the first thing I realized is, he had a son on the way, daughter. or child I could think what that could feel like for my family- I've got a child on the way and what it would be like if I wasn't in the picture," said Donnie Dunlap of "Ink It" who is donating proceeds to officer's family.

That's why Ink It owner, Donnie Dunlap headed over to the Drawing Board, designing a shirt in honor of Fallen Officer Chase Maddox. All the proceeds will go to Maddox's wife.

"It's been unbelievable the amount of outreach and support," said Dunlap.

Friday, the quiet community was rocked when Officer Maddox along with two Henry County Sheriff's deputies were shot while serving a warrant. Officer Maddox didn't survive.

Ashlea Knight said she heard the sirens as police rushed through town to get to the scene.

"We just stood there. Seemed like everybody from the county was here... scary," said Knight.

As the day went on, news spread about what happened and how Officer Maddox didn't survive.

Monday, his patrol car sat outside the police department covered in flowers. People who didn't know the officer, who don't even live there, stopped by to pay their respects.

"It's the wife the kids... I can't even imagine," said Joy Church who was paying her respects.
