Several deadly shootings across the country and in places like schools and churches have one Atlanta area police department working to be proactive against that type of violence.

The Cobb County Police Department held a Faith Forum Monday morning with a focus on church safety and security.

Faith leaders were invited to ask questions in an open discussion.

Officers also gave suggestions on making churches safer and what congregations can do if faced with an active shooter situation.

This forum is the third event of its kind hosted by Cobb County Police.
