Instead of kayaking in Ellijay, John Loud, Steve Welsh, Jeff Daxe and Sean Murphy decided to help.

"We were just going to hang out, we thought maybe we should hang out and do something that has an impact," said Welsh.
They heard about a school in Baton Rouge that was wiped out and decided to collect school uniforms and supplies for the kids.
They turned to social media to collect a few items to load into their SUVs and head to Louisiana.
In just three days, individuals and businesses in Kennesaw and throughout Cobb County donating truckloads of supplies. They soon had boxes of clothes, cleaning supplies, food and gift cards.
"I'm in awe at how quickly people responded with such a huge amount of items. I am blown away. I can't believe in 3 days this has happened" said Welsh.
They plan to leave at daybreak Saturday, and they're certain that this guy's trip will definitely be one to remember.
