Clayton County officer struck by car on interstate

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Clayton County police officer investigating a pedestrian fatality on the interstate was struck by a car early Monday morning.  

This happened on Interstate 75 northbound near CW Grant at around 2 a.m.

According to police, an unidentified woman was fatally struck in the HOV lane of I-75.

During the investigation, a vehicle not involved with the accident drove into the scene and hit the officer. That officer was taken to the hospital after being hit and has since been released.

The investigation is currently ongoing with charges pending.
