Clayton County deputies arrest murder suspect

Deputies in Clayton County arrested a man Saturday after a late-night deadly shooting Friday.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested Joshua Doyle Holmes at a home on Grayson Drive in Riverdale. Deputies said the Fugitive Squad and SWAT team both were deployed to take him into custody.

Deputies said he had been hiding out at the home since the murder of Javier Woods which happened Friday night in the 700 block of Pointe South Parkway.

No word on a possible motive for the deadly shooting.

It was not immediately known when Holmes would make a first appearance on the charges.
