Celebrating 4th of July in Atlanta: fireworks and events

From fireworks lighting up the sky to the largest 10K in the world, Fourth of July weekend is always big in and around Atlanta!

If you're looking for ways to celebrate, here are some options: 

FIREWORKS

Monday, July 4:

Alpharetta: Celebrate at Wills Park on Old Milton Parkway from 6-10 p.m. Fireworks at dusk. More details

Centennial Olympic Park: Gates open at 6 p.m. More details here.

East Point's Salute to the Red, White and Blue Celebration: Family activities, a food court and fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. This will take place on Main Street, across from the East Point MARTA station & East City Hall.

Lenox Square's 57th annual legendary 4th of July: This year's activities will include a 15-minute fireworks show, live music and more. More details here.

Mall of Georgia's Star Spangled Fourth: Event starts at 5 p.m. Fireworks at 9:35 p.m. More details here.

Marietta's Fourth in the Park: Begins at 10 a.m. with "Freedom Parade." Activities all day, ending with fireworks at dark. More details here

Roswell, GA's annual Extravaganza: The city's annual celebration will take place at Sweet Apple Elementary School (it has moved from Roswell HS) and festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at dark. 

Six Flags Over Georgia July 4th Fest (July 2-4): Nightly fireworks will blast off at 9:30 p.m. More details here.

Stone Mountain Park's Fantastic Fourth Celebration: Lasershow and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Buy tickets here.

 

PARADES/EVENTS (Monday)

Dunwoody's annual 4th of July Parade: More details here.

Firecracker 5K/10K in Dahlonega: Run through historic downtown Dahlongega! Day-of registration is at 6:30 a.m. and race starts at 7:30 a.m.

Firecracker Road Race in Henry County: Annual 5K/10K to benefit Henry County Parks and Recreation's Special Olympics. Registration starts at 6:45 a.m. and the race begins at 8 a.m. 

Funbelievable Fourth at Georgia Aquarium: Family-friendly celebration kicking off at 7 p.m. Carnival games, arts and crafts, live music... and a great view of the Centennial Olympic Park fireworks show! For more details call 404-581-4180.

Peachtree Road Race: If you would like to watch the world's largest 10K on Monday, you'll need to pick your spot early! More details
