Caught on cam: Thief stealing outdoor power equipment

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. - Employees at the Ace Hardware in Douglasville told FOX 5 they believe the same man who stole a $3,600 aerator two weeks ago came back Monday to steal again.

"It's hard to watch your equipment walk out the door," Sales Manager Stand Flowers said.

Surveillance cameras captured the man pushing the equipment from the show floor, through the parking lot and across the road.

"His accomplice picked him up in a white SUV," Flowers said.

Monday, Flowers said an employee saw a man lingering around the store.

"He was just meandering around when he recognized him as the same man who stole the aerator two weeks ago," Flowers said. "It's very bold to do it in the middle of broad daylight."

The man got spooked, Flowers believes. So he took off.

"We tried to chase him," Flowers told FOX 5. "The accomplice actually tried to hit the store owner."

Flowers said he hopes someone will be able to identify the man before it happens again.

Douglasville Police are investigating the incident.
