Car burglars hit Buckhead over the weekend

ATLANTA - Car burglars like to come to Buckhead because they can get "goodies," according to Barry Shaw the Atlanta Police Department’s Zone Two Commander.

In a span of a few hours late Saturday into Sunday morning, a couple dozen vehicles were hit, windows smashed or they simply took the car.

The communities included Garden Hills, Peachtree Hills, and Peachtree Park.

The goodies include golf clubs left in a vehicle, computers, and an expensive camera.

Major Shaw said he knows the residents are frustrated. He wants to put more police on the beat. and there is some additional coverage beginning this week. Eight new officers are going on their ride-alongs now to learn about the hot spots.
