DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A dramatic car accident sparked a house fire in DeKalb County Saturday night.
DeKalb County firefighters battled the flames on South Hairston Road late Saturday night.
Witnesses told FOX 5 that two drivers collided on the roadway.
The impact sent one of the vehicles careening into the side of a home.
The car then burst into flames, quickly setting the home ablaze.
Thankfully no one was inside the home at the time.
Homeowner Ola Nunnally was shocked to get a call in the middle of the night saying the house was on fire.
"I was at home sleeping and my tenant called to say the house was on fire. I get here and there's a car inside the house," Nunnally said. "I'm devastated, but I'm just glad he's not hurt."
Two people, one from each vehicle involved in the wreck, are now hospitalized.
