ATLANTA - Some business owners and workers in an arts and business district in southwest Atlanta are concerned after four homicides within the last year.
Atlanta police are investigating the fatal shootings that happened around a recording studio at The Metropolitan. The latest gun battle occurred Saturday on the property, ending with the loss of one man's life.
There are several businesses in the warehouses, including a media company, catering shop and designing companies. Workers say many films are also produced on the site.
FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell spoke with business owners in the area Monday.
Justin Patterson, executive producer of Hype Atlanta, said the shootings, though unfortunate, shouldn't take away from the district's influence and value. Loroy James of No Stress Cafe agrees.
"I do take issue with that but I don't think it is stronger than the positivity that is going on out here," Patterson said.
"You cannot beat the price per dollar and the facilities here. It's one of the last gems in the city," James added.
FOX 5 is working to get updates on all the investigations as well as security measures in place (possibly planned) for the Metropolitan.
