A Buford man is behind bars after being arrested for rape, false imprisonment, robbery, and aggravated assault.

On November 24, around 9 a.m. police responded to a call about a possible rape at a home on Grand Ashbury Lane in Buford. When officers arrived they found a nude woman with her hands bounded by rope, and duct tape around her head and neck.

Police learned the original crime took place at a neighboring house on Grand Ashbury Lane. Investigators searched the home and found a large amount of suspected marijuana.

Investigators say Thuan Q. Dinh drove to California to pick up the woman, who was his girlfriend. When they got to his home in Buford, police say he tied her up, raped, and tased her. This went on for about 24 hours before police say Dinh left her alone in the basement. That's when she escaped. The woman, 41, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police arrested Thuan Q. Dinh, 39, on November 29 for rape, false imprisonment, and two counts of aggravated assault. Even more charges are possible because of the seized drugs.

Dinh is in the Gwinnett County Jail.

The victim is now safe and recovering.
