According to DeKalb County Police, crews recovered a body from a lake off Ward Lake Road near Bouldercrest Road.  Investigators beleive the body had been there for a week and is connected to a crash where a man went missing.

"We had an incident here about a week ago and we were out here looking for a person, but we were not able to find them and we believe this may be the person we are looking for," said Shiera Campbell, DeKalb County Police Department.

Emergency officials said they were initially called out to the location after a report of a cardiac arrest. Crews then found the body in the lake.

"Our first arriving engine and med unit arrived, we did notice that there was an individual that was floating inside of the lake or the little pond," said Capt. Eric Jackson with DeKalb County Fire.

Police are not sharing many details about the single car crash, only to say there was another person inside the vehicle.

Investigators said the body was found inside of the water about 30 to 40 feet into the pond and that the body was caught on some fallen tree limbs.

"Once we were able to get the boat, for us it was just a matter of grappling hold to the individual and then just pulling him to the shore where DeKalb Police could start their investigation," said Capt. Jackson.

The name of the man has not yet been released by authorities.
