Body discovered by cleaning crew in NE Atlanta

ATLANTA - Homicide Detectives want to know who shot and killed a man this morning at a Midtown extended stay.

An employee at In town Suites on Piedmont Circle in Midtown called police when the shots were fired. Atlanta Police say the employee didn't see the shooting, but realize someone was hurt.

A cleaning crew said they discovered the man’s body on the 4th floor balcony about 9 o'clock. People who frequent the area were surprised by the deadly shooting.

"I am kinda surprised that something would happen like that because I thought they had security," Santo Mora said.

"Right now we have no identification on the male, no witnesses. So, we are asking anyone who heard or saw anything to call homicide or crime stoppers, where you can remain anonymous," Homicide commander Lt. Charles Hampton said.

The deadly shooting marks the 4th murder in Atlanta in 2017.
