The eagle has landed... and laid an egg!

Berry College posted on their eagle Facebook page about the new egg. The egg was laid just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday and is the first for 2016. They expect a second egg within the next three days.

The college has monitored the bald eagle's nest on their campus since the spring of 2012. In that time, they have watched as five eaglets successfully fledged. A separate nest on campus not under the watchful eye of the cameras also produced three other eaglets.

Three cameras have since been set up to monitor the activity at the nest. You can watch live on Berry College's website by click here.
