Beloved Atlanta Braves usher moving to SunTrust Park

Long-time usher Walter Banks will continue to greet Atlanta Braves fans at their new stadium, SunTrust Park.
According to statement released Tuesday, the Braves have partnered with Uber to transport Banks to and from the Cobb County baseball park so he can continue to greet baseball fans.
Banks, the longest-serving usher, has become a living legend for fans attending games. He started as an usher in 1965 when he worked for the Atlanta Crackers at the Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. The next year, he ushered for the Braves when they moved from Milwaukee. Banks ushered for the Braves at both Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium and Turner Field.
“Walter’s unwavering presence and love for the Atlanta Braves has not gone unnoticed,” said Terry McGuirk, Braves Chairman and CEO. “I cannot imagine a Braves game without him. We’re so grateful that Uber was able to make sure Walter continues to be a meaningful part of Braves game days.”
