Police: Griffin man arrested for making threats against school, police

SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities in Griffin said they have taken a man into custody investigators believe made threats against schools and the police department.

Joseph Miller, Jr., 28, is accused of making those threats. Griffin-Spalding County Schools were placed on lockdown because of the threats Thursday afternoon, but the lockdown has since been lifted. Police said they went to each school to make sure everything is okay.

Investigators searched Miller’s home and said they found ammunition as well as a flare gun. He is being charged with one count of terrorist acts, which is a felony.

Police said they did not find anything suspicious at any of the schools.
