Atlanta vigil planned for German Christmas market tragedy

A vigil is planned Tuesday night to honor those affected by the Berlin Christmas market tragedy that at least 12 people dead and dozens more injured.

Community members will gather for a candlelight vigil at 7:10 p.m. at the Atlanta Christkindl Market, located in Central Park at Atlantic Station. The event will include a performance by the Atlanta Carolers.

German authorities are calling yesterday's truck attack on a crowded Christmas market an "act of terrorism" that had all the hallmarks of Islamic extremism. But there are still many questions about who carried out the attack that killed 12 people and wounded nearly 50.

Despite the high-profile arrest of a man shortly after the attack, German police officials say it's possible that a suspect or suspects might still be on the loose.
