ATLANTA - It was a unique Christmas celebration at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding Monday.
The Atlanta Police Department’s SWAT unit hosted the party for patients.
On hand with police were Santa Claus and a few Star Wars storm troopers.
Officers also collected money that will be used to buy gifts for children.
“We’re giving back to the community and what’s a better way than to give toys to young kids that’s sick and shut in during the holiday season,” Lt. Fred Watson, Atlanta Police SWAT Commander.
Monday’s event was made possible by a partnership between several groups including the Atlanta Police Foundation, Georgia Garrison and Krispy Kreme corporation.
