Atlanta police: Man sexually assaults girl, 10, on her way to school

- Police are searching for a man accused of sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl last month.

The young victim was walking to school on September 29 when police said she was approached by an unknown male, believed to be in his early twenties.

The child was grabbed and dragged along a trail in Mozley Park, located in the 1500 block of MLK Jr. Drive Northwest. That's when the suspect sexually assaulted the girl.

According to police, the suspect forced the victim to pull down her pants and perform oral sex on him.

Detectives have released a sketch of the suspect, who the victim described as a black male with a little black afro and mustache. Police said he has brown eyes, earrings in both ears, thick eyebrows with a cut on one of them and tattoos on his left arm. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a tan sweater with a white undershirt, blue jeans and all white Jordans.

A $2,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information about the suspect's identity or the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS (8477).
