ATLANTA - Nine candidates who are vying to be Atlanta's next mayor took center stage at a forum Monday night.
Cathy Woolard, Ceasar Mitchell, John Eaves, Keisha Lance Bottoms, Vincent Fort, Peter Aman, Kwanza Hall, Rohit Ammanamanchi, and Glenn Wrightson all participated in the event put on by The Center for Civic Innovation at Dad's Garage in Grant Park.
The forum was non-traditional. Each candidate was given a pom-pom, a dry-erase board and a marker to help them answer questions. Members of the audience had kazoos to use to show their support for candidates' answers.
The questions ranged from would the candidates take the full mayor's salary of $184,000 to what things has the city offered to do to draw Amazon to Atlanta that it should do for the companies that already call the city home.
Many in the audience were undecided voters.
"You know, on the screen they don't really seem like people, they just seem kind of like figures, but when you see them in person, just getting to see them being actual people and also interacting with each other, it really kind of showed me who was a leader," said Taylor Borden, a Georgia State University student who said the forum helped him decide who to support.
Election Day is next Tuesday, November 7. A runoff would be held on December 5.
