Water Restored at North Atlanta HS, Classes Resume on Wednesday

- Water has been restored at North Atlanta High School and classes will resume on Wednesday after a water main break caused the school to shut down.

Students attending the school were without water on Monday. Officials said they couldn’t serve lunch because of the lack of water and bathrooms, water fountains, and sinks were not working. Students shared pictures with FOX 5 News of the bathrooms inside high school blocked off by tape. The city of Atlanta was out with bottled water and water to flush the toilets.

Officials blame the break on old pipes and possibly the cold weather over the weekend. Many of the students said they were upset because the water main break apparently happened Sunday, but there was no warning as they came to school Monday morning.

Students continued their day as scheduled Monday despite the outage, but classes were canceled on Tuesday so officials could fix the problem. Almost 1,800 students were affected by the outage.
