The Atlanta Braves hosted a very special fan in hopes of fulfilling his wish on Saturday.

In April 2012, Joshua Pitner was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor that later was determined to be an adult terminal cancer, Glioblasoma Multiforme on the brainstem. Pitner underwent a 13-hour surgery in May 2012, followed by 13 months of chemotherapy and radiation.

Pitner was 19 years old at the time, and doctors estimated he would live six to 12 months following the diagnosis. Pitner is now 23 years old and has overcome four years of challenges, including regaining his ability to walk following his surgery.

Since Pitner was diagnosed at the age of 19, he was too old for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Pitner is one of the Braves’ biggest fans, and his wish is to come to a Braves game and meet Braves players.

The Braves fulfilled his wish by hosting him for a special day at the ballpark. Joshua met one of his favorite players, Gordon Beckham and Beckham presented Joshua with a personalized Braves jersey.
