MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — An Atlanta area news anchor arrested on a traffic charge says she had no idea police had flagged her driver's license as suspended.
Amanda Davis was jailed Tuesday on a charge of driving on a suspended license. Davis said Thursday she believed her license was fully restored months ago after she pleaded guilty last year to driving under the influence.
A Cobb County officer stopped Davis Tuesday for an expired car tag. She was arrested after a database check showed her license was suspended.
Davis, who starts a new job at WGCL-TV in Atlanta next month, said she successfully renewed her driver's license Wednesday after showing paperwork that she had attended DUI school.
Cobb County solicitor's office spokesman Steven Ellis said Davis still faces a court hearing on the charge.
