APS works to close 'the digital divide'

- Loud cheers from Atlanta Public Schools students after they learned they'll receive free laptops and hotspots.

School officials say they're closing what they call The Homework Gap for 6,000 6th graders and 7th graders in the school system, by providing them with technology to make learning easier and information more accessible.

This, through its new APS Digital Bridge Program.

To make this possible, APS teamed up with T-Mobile, who donated $1.5 million to the program.
