Students in Atlanta Public Schools celebrate Women's History Month.

Thursday students, teachers, and community leaders gathered in northwest Atlanta for the 11th Annual Shirley Clarke Fraklin Lecture.

This year's theme shined a spotlight on women who fight discrimination in all its forms.

That was the focus of the keynote speech delivered by a Spelman College student and youth advocate Mary-Pat Hector.

She said it's often important for students to hear from other young people.

Thursday's event was hosted at Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy in northwest Atlanta.
