The television network AMC is donating $150,000 to the city of Senoia that will go towards the city’s plans to upgrade a local park.

City officials confirm that about six or eight weeks ago, the show’s executive producer along with the network desired to do something for the community.

The AMC show “The Walking Dead” has been filming in and around Senoia for the past five years.

The City Administrator Richard Ferry told the network of plans to upgrade the Seavy Street Park.

The city wants to remodel the parking lot for the playground and add restrooms, a fence, and sidewalks but there wasn’t enough money to add playground equipment.

Ferry said the donation from AMC will allow the city to complete the project as planned and allow for some additional equipment.
