Amazon Begins Free Restaurant Delivery Service

Amazon is adding restaurant delivery to its growing list of on demand services.

The company announced Tuesday that it would be expanding its Prime Now-base food delivery to 20 major metropolitan areas across the U.S.

In September, Amazon debuted the service in Seattle and many speculated that the service was just an experiment.  More recently, the service has been available in Portland and just yesterday LA was added to the roster.  The company is now planning to add restaurant delivery to everywhere Prime Now—its same day ordering platform which delivers direct from local vendors is available.
