82 storage units hit in Forsyth County

Forsyth County Sheriff Deputies are looking for the people responsible for breaking into dozens of storage units over the weekend.

Deputies said 82 storage units were broken into at the SecurCare Self Storage facility on Parkway North Boulevard in Cumming.

According to the sheriff’s office a deputy noticed the gate was open at around six Sunday morning.  When the deputy went to check she saw the gate’s chain for the motor was cut along with the locks on the storage units.

According to investigators, there are several cameras within the storage facility, but deputies said the video quality is so poor they cannot even determine if the people involved are men or women.

Of the 82 units hit, deputies said only seven owners have filed reports with the sheriff’s office.
