Tanker rollover crash on I-20 WB in Cobb County

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - The westbound direction of Interstate 20 could be shut down until the early morning hours Thursday after a tanker rolled over on the busy highway during rush hour.

It happened near the Six Flags exit just after 4 p.m. Details surrounding the crash were not immediately available, but officials said a car and tanker were involved.

The tanker flipped on its side and spilled fuel all over the road, leading to hours of clean-up.

The accident snarled traffic in the area of riverside parkway into the evening.

Thankfully, no one was killed in the crash.

The Georgia Department of Transportation estimates the lanes could be open as early at 2:15 a.m.
