32,000 pounds donated to Atlanta families in need

ATLANTA - A large donation made Wednesday to families in need, who live in Atlanta.

PepsiCo and Feed The Children teamed up to give a week's worth of meals and daily essentials to 800 families in need.

The donation distribution took place this morning at Georgia State Stadium in southeast Atlanta.

Organizers gave away about 32,000 pounds of food.

They also deployed trucks to make doorstop deliveries to 400 of the recipients, who were unable to leave their homes.

The is the sixth annual event of its kind in Atlanta.

Organizers said it's part of a larger initiative between the two companies to help those in need nationwide.
